Ratings Review: THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (Season One)

Although it was not a mega-hit, like EMPIRE, FOX did manage to find a second freshman series that did not suck in the ratings. That series was THE LAST MAN ON EARTH.

It did take a while, but FOX has another live action comedy to round out its Sunday comedies, once dominated by animation. THE LAST MAN ON EARTH had a very strong sampling and held a steady, young audience through to the season finale. That despite having multiple weeks of encores as its lead in and many double airings, that presented the series as burn-off material.

The last man on earth averaged 3.59 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, for the Live +SD ratings. It ranked 93rd in total viewership, but finished 35th in the A18-49 ratings. The Live+7 ratings had the demo rising 75%, while viewership grew about two million+ viewers.
